Spring invites us to open windows, start again, and try something new — so why not let that spirit extend to the way we honor Christ, too?

Windows are opened, routines shift, and there’s a quiet sense that life can begin again. It’s no coincidence that this season sits so closely alongside Easter, when Christians celebrate the ultimate renewal.

And yet, when it comes to honoring Christ, many of us fall back on the same habits — good ones, of course, but sometimes a little predictable.

So what if this spring, we tried something slightly different? Not complicated or overly ambitious, just a few unexpected ways to bring faith into everyday life with a little more joy.

1Take Christ on your walk

Spring walks are practically irresistible, so why not turn one into something more intentional? Instead of filling the silence with a podcast or music, try walking and talking to Christ as you go. It doesn’t have to sound formal. It can be as simple as sharing your thoughts, your worries, or even just commenting on the beauty around you.

It’s a surprisingly natural way to pray — and far more relaxed than you might expect.

2Set the table beautifully (for no particular reason)

There is something deeply human about making a meal feel special. This spring, try setting the table with a little extra care, even on an ordinary day, and offer the moment quietly to Christ.

It sounds simple, but beauty has a way of lifting the heart. A well-set table, a candle, a moment of gratitude before eating — all of it can turn something routine into something meaningful.

3Write a thank-you note to God

We often ask for things in prayer, but gratitude can easily slip through the cracks. Take ten minutes to write a short “thank-you letter” to God for the small things that are going well.

It might feel slightly unusual at first, but it has a way of shifting perspective. You start noticing what is good rather than what is missing.

4Do one hidden act of kindness

Spring is full of visible change, but some of the most meaningful things remain unseen. Choose one small act of kindness that no one will know about — helping someone quietly, leaving something for someone, taking care of a task without recognition.

There is something deeply freeing about doing good without needing it to be noticed.

5Bring a little life into your space

Spring invites us to refresh our surroundings, so why not do it with intention? Add a plant (or 10 if you're anything like the writers at Aleteia!), fresh flowers, or even just open the windows and let the air move through your home.

As you do, take a moment to reflect on renewal — not in a heavy or overly symbolic way, but simply as a reminder that life, growth, and hope are always possible.

Honoring Christ does not always require grand gestures. Often, it happens in small, quiet moments that carry a little more attention, a little more beauty, and a little more love.

Spring, after all, is not only about what is growing outside. But, importantly, it is also an invitation to let something grow within.
